It’s a real bummer Adam Yauch passed away today. Being a kid who picked up a skateboard towards the late 90’s, it was only natural to get into the Beastie Boys. You couldn’t put on a transworld video without hearing intergalactic, and a few of the music videos they made had skateboarding in them too. Those “counter culture” elements combined with the cool beats and witty lyrics were perfect for an 11 year old me.

It’s rare to see a band last for so long and still keep their integrity in tact. Adam’s passing is also a reminder to me that were all getting older, and hopefully before I croak I can make some cool tunes too.
